The Anemone from Be'eri

The book tells the story of Carmel Gat, a second-year master's student in occupational therapy, who was abducted from her parents' home in Be'eri on October 7th. Hostages who returned from captivity reported that Carmel, a professional occupational therapist, took care to create a routine for the hostages who were with her: together they exercised yoga and meditation under her instruction, and they kept a daily diary in captivity. Carmel's story is inspiring as it demonstrates how, even in situations of extreme distress, it is still possible to nurture mental resilience, help others cope through activities like yoga and meditation, and maintain optimism and creativity.
