On the 14th of October, a week after the terrible day in the history of the State of Israel and after this horrible massacre, while Avihai Brodetz was sitting in front of the Kirya (Ministry of Defense & IDF HQ) and implored the Israeli government that he would not move from the place until his family returned, I came to him in the Kirya wearing a dress that reminded me of the clothing in the extermination camps in Auschwitz. I created a bloody star of David on the clothing, I came with tied hands and Rich Rach on my mouth and in my hand, I held a sign on it written: And the land was chaos and chaos and darkness on the face of an abyss.
That's how I felt. Everything just ended and from today everything I am going to do with the help of my artistic art is directed from that moment on for the subject of the abductees to keep them in consciousness until everyone returns.
I placed the hourglass installation beside me to illustrate:
1. Halting time.
2. The fact that we went back in time, among other things, in terms of the acts of barbarism that human history is littered with. Therefore, an hourglass and not a digital clock.
3. Time is alive.
4. I moved the hourglass installation further to the Square of the Abductees (in front of Tel Aviv museum of Art). Later, when I wanted to move it, it fell and broke - which for me symbolized another severe crisis in relation to the failed conduct of the government in returning the abductees. From this hourglass endless hourglass were created on the theme of what became the recognizable motif in the struggle to return the abductees home.
